Analabs Limited Kenya has successfully transitioned its Laboratory Testing Services from ISO/IEC 17025:2005 to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 edition. This, was after successful assessment making the transition its 3rd accreditation cycle from KENAS. With now over 50 accredited tests, the move will enable Analabs Limited meet needs of a wider stakeholder base, in a modern market in the following areas: Elemental and Heavy Metal Analysis, Nutritional (Proximate) Analysis and improved procedures in Microbiology.

Our transition to the newest global standards ISO/IEC 17025 also means an assurance of quality, confidentiality, impartiality and consistency while delivering Laboratory Testing Services.
Demonstrating conformity with the new global standards ISO/IEC 17025, our process approach now matches those of other newer international standards such as ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 15189 (quality of medical laboratories) and ISO/IEC 17021-1 (requirements for audit and certification bodies).

Also present during the handover ceremony was Analabs Limited Group Managing Director, Mucai Kunyiha and Dan Okwaro, General Manager accompanied by staff of Analabs Limited and few representatives from KENAS.

Transitioning from ISO/IEC 17025:2005 to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 was a requirement from ILAC and ISO for all laboratories to transition their processes to the new international standards within a three-year period after publication of the new standards in 2017. ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 international standards were jointly developed by ISO and IEC in the Committee on conformity assessment (CASCO). The new version of ISO/IEC 17025 replaces the 2005 version.
